Vladimir Putin attends Navy Day in Kaliningrad

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Kaliningrad on Sunday, July 26, to celebrate Navy Day. This year Kaliningrad will host more than 30 warships, submarines, boats, and other navy vessels, alongside more than two thousand troops of the Baltic fleet. Russia's Navy Day dates back to the Soviet era, having been established in 1939. The celebration was dissolved in 1980 before Russian President Vladimir Putin reinstated it in 2003. Each year it is now celebrated on the last Sunday of July.
